Queen Elizabeth II
A wonderful private commission to paint the late Queen Elizabeth II, inspired by a beautiful black and white photograph by Dorothy Wilding. She was the epitome of elegance, and bedecked in such incredible craftsmanship:
Wearing the Vladimir Tiara, Dehli Durbar necklace, and of course the Royal Family Orders of the King Georges V and VI, and the Star, Sash and Lesser George of The Order of The Garter, there was plenty of detail for me!
Lilium Regale and English roses added a background touch.
Painting the tiny portraits within the Royal Family Orders - each 2mm high - was a fun challenge.
