On the Lancashire coast, looking out over Morecambe Bay, is ‘the Barrows’, a headland jutting out from Heysham village. Amongst the ancient archaeological features of this area is the 8th century St Patrick’s Chapel, standing exposed on the headland next to the famous rock-cut graves. It looks out over the waters of the Bay to the Cumbrian coast at Barrow in Furness.
