Lancaster Castle View

This commission was a joy to paint, with its subject being a city very dear to me; Lancaster was my home during my degree years. Full of historic buildings, this is one of its loveliest viewpoints, between the castle wall and the Priory. The first morning light was tricky to paint on the distant rooftops, but it was very enjoyable 'knitting in' the architectural detail and texture.
