Thunder House

 

This miniature painted Georgian room is constructed around two viewpoints; from the eyeline of a fictional inhabitant comes into perspective an exaggerated Enlightenment room, my ode to the grasping minds of the 18th century. The interior is populated with loaded objects, each with their own narrative, and when the viewer peers into the apertures it appears to extend beyond the physical boundaries of the box.

I'm fascinated by history as a kind of liminal space; distant and different enough to reflect on human constants and characteristics.
